Independent Design Consultant


Work with branding and design firms Landor Associates, Siegel+Gale, Raison Pure, and Globalworks on a project basis to develop branding and identity systems that span across all media, including print, web, packaging, and environmental. Clients include Abbott, Accenture, American Express, Ernst & Young, Keane, McNeil-PPC, Merill Lynch, MMC, Samsung, Skyy, Sprint, Visa, Westfield.



2004 – 2005
Congdon & Company, Greenwich, Connecticut
Design Director


Teamed with brand managers at Johnson & Johnson for a large restructuring of their operating companies including Ortho-McNeil and Janssen. Created new identities and designed stationery, signage, visual systems and print communications. Developed a name, identity, and packaging for Alli, an innovative diet product from GlaxoSmithKlein. Worked with International Paper on new brand concepts.

Responsibilities included conceptual thinking, design, team leadership, internal critiques, client presentations, project/client management, client presentations, preparing proposals and project estimates.



1998 – 2004
Siegel+Gale, New York, New York
Senior Designer


Revitalized the American Express brand by designing credit cards, extensive print collateral systems, and identity standards for international use. Launched the American Express TravelFunds Card, a digital version of the Travelers Cheques. Designed identity for Olight, a new product from DuPont. Developed a brand system for Lehman Brothers, which ended with a rollout of extensive identity guidelines and a Voice book. Worked on branding initiatives for Boise, Johnson & Johnson, Hydro, State Farm, Girl Scouts of the USA, Bayer, and Sappi Fine Paper.



Exhibition Design

1998

Developed exhibition graphics for Destroy: Punk Graphic Design in Britain, an exhibition of 400 record sleeves, posters and fanzines at the Royal Festival Hall on London’s South Bank. Developed exhibition graphics and interactive kiosks for True Stories, a touring exhibit in Japan, presented by the British Council to promote British tourism. Designed catalog for Roadworks, a public art installation in London’s bus shelters.

Planned image and copy layout for The Beatles: A Diary, a book detailing
the Beatles’ lives. Assisted the art director with the layout of Tate, the official magazine of the Tate Gallery.

Collaborated on layout of Artifice and Make magazines. Responsible for the design of Annotations, a series of books highlighting contemporary artists.

Envisioned complete product line for Shrapnel sporting goods, including
packaging, clothing, and sneakers. Created promotional materials for Dean Witter. Developed concepts for Liz Claiborne and Nabisco.

Developed tube and package design concepts for Rembrandt toothpaste.
Conducted extensive research on the Mexican beauty market before presenting a visual brand strategy and designing a packaging system for Caprice shampoo.
